Different course - great race!

The annual Soar Resolution race run by Richard Vincent of Soar Valley Canoe Club had an unavoidable course change due to Pennywort weed blocking the back channel section of the normal course. In the event the new course proved popular with club members many of whom said they would be happy to see the alternative course in future years. 2 miles shorter at 8.5 miles it included a maximum of 6 portages with two optional weir shoots. The winning boat was never in doubt, Joe Enoch and Huw Singleton also first junior K2 but other key class winners were closer with Dave Belbin winning the WWR class, Jimmy Butler the K1 class and Jamie Christie and Molly Saudmock the Mixed K2 class. There were a few battles being fought amongst the NKC veterans for the Mixed K2 honours with Norman Mason and Alison Chemiel eventually winning! Pictures can be found on the Gallery Page.
