Recreational and Touring paddling

Nottingham Kayak Club is not just a racing club. Whilst most of our members will try race boats some prefer to stay in recreational/touring kayaks or canoes. Even in the winter the club offers at least one session every weekend of recreational/touring kayak skill development. In the summer sessions are also available during the week. Occasional river trips are offered and the club encourages club members to run their own 'peer group' trips once they are considered competent to use club equipment unsupervised by a club coach or in water leader. The club can help develop moving water boat handling skills and has good links with Holme Pierrepont Canoe Club who operate from HPP and offer a range of moving water courses including paddling on the slalom course at HPP in Nottingham.

Pool Sessions

Rolling sessions for blocks of 3 sessions are available annually commencing every October.

Numbers will be capped at 30 as most people will be wanting to use the bottom end of the pool. More slots may be added as people progress to activity in the deep end.

Price in 2023/24 was £7.00 per session.

All sessions are at Ken Martin Leisure centre Bulwell, on Saturday afternoons, meet at 3.30 and session starts at 3.45 and finishes at 5.15.

Please note, do not book on the Thursday evening pool sessions at Clifton leisure, they are for HPP members only.

Booking details available from October annually
